While it may not be snowing in Tempe, it sure is in many other parts of the country. February in Tempe is sure a nice place to be! It’s hard to beat the 70-degree daytime temps and the nights that hover around 40. That’s why so many snowbirds alight on our fair city every year knowing that they can escape the cold and the dreary. So if you are here, whether full-time or part, you might need a suggestion or two on what to do for Valentine’s Day.
Gold Bar Espresso is a nice way to start or end your Valentine’s Day. Located on South McClintock Drive, it’s a family owned business that serves up pastries, coffee drinks, live music, and game nights. It’s a cozy, friendly environment that you’ll want to return to even when it’s not a holiday. And go ahead and snuggle up a bit. They won’t mind!
If you or your sweetheart has a hankering for a live production piece, head on over to ASU’s Gammage for their rendition of Aladdin. The auditorium itself is said to be the last work of Frank Lloyd Wright that took 25 months to complete. Not only that, but the hall boasts three galleries exhibiting the works of local artists. What a great place to celebrate your love, beautiful and well-worn or sparkling-new.
Papago Park is a win-win all the way around. Whether you want an easy hike or you two lovebirds would enjoy time hanging out with the wildlife at the Phoenix Zoo, you’re sure to find some romance. Not only that, but think of all the love you’ll find on the golf course or at the Desert Botanical Garden.
After your fun-filled day, head on over to the Watershed. Enjoy lakeside dining to live music and don’t forget about the boat ride. If the Watershed doesn’t suit your fancy, consider Culinary Dropout, House of Tricks, or Top of the Rock Restaurant. From all of us at American Five Star Auto Repair & Transmission to all of you, we wish you a very wonderful Valentine’s Day full of love and romance!
